Not enough alcohol...

So, for those of you who didn't read my profile, I'm a graphic designer. I make things look pretty and kill lots of trees for paper to print all the catalogs and brochures that I slave away at everyday with a hot G5. I work for an HVAC manufacturer and believe me, I have a hard enough time making boxes look pretty without having to worry about how they work. But somehow, our engineers think just because I maintain all the technical literature as well, that I know as much as they do.

Umm... no...

Don't get me wrong, I think knowing as much about our product as I can makes me able to market it better. Just don't ask me what the Cv of a motorized water valve is in a size 012 horizontal is.

So, as I'm working away today, I noticed a small discrepancy in airflow between two sizes of the same series. Normally, larger unit equals more airflow, however this wasn't the case on the last two units of the series. I call down to engineering to see what the scoop is and here's the conversation.

Me: So, why is the airflow on the 070 less than the 060?
Downstairs Engineer: What do you mean.
Me: ::deep breath::
Me: The 060 has 200 more CFM in stage two heat that the 070 does.
Downstairs Engineer: I don't see how that could be.
Me: >.<
Me: Well, according to the data you provided, it is.
Downstairs Engineer: Well, that just couldn't be.
Me: Well... it's right here in the chart. Maybe you should look into that.
Downstairs Engineer: Well, it can't be right. You need to update the table.
Me: K, what are the values I need to use?
Downstairs Engineer: The correct ones.
Me: And those would be?
Downstairs Engineer: The one's in the table...
Me: The table you gave me?
Downstairs Engineer: Yeah.
Me: ::sigh:: The values you gave me in the table are wrong. You need to give me new ones.
Downstairs Engineer: Oh! The table's wrong... well... I'll have to look into that.
Me: Wonderful, call me back.

Definitely not enough alcohol during the workday...
